Kenneth "Michael" Kirby, 59, entered into rest on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in the Chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.

Michael was born in Florence, SC to Kenneth Lorance Kirby and Brenda Carol Hatchell Kirby. He was a 1984 graduate of West Florence High School. He took several classes at Florence Darlington Technical College in auto mechanics but was a self taught mechanic. One of his talents was his ability to paint beautifully. He enjoyed farming and also collecting comic books. One of his favorite pastimes was going to gun shows, antique shops, and flea markets to see what he could find. Above all he was a loving son, husband, father, and brother. He will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol Snead Kirby; daughter, Kelsey Caroline Kirby; son, Michael Spencer Kirby (Leila); sister, Sandra Kirby Williams; brother, Jeffrey Lynn Kirby (Sherry); granddaughter, Audrey; several nieces and nephews.
