Darlington, SC – Kenneth Michael Araujo, Jr., 39, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023 in a Florence hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023 in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Lynchburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Lynchburg, SC.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening February 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael was born in Florence, the son of Kenneth Michael Araujo, Sr. and Gaye Harker Araujo.  He attended Peniel Baptist Church.  Michael enjoyed playing music, working as a landscaper, and he loved animals.

Surviving are his parents of Darlington; two sisters, Allison (Jason) Pierce, Kelly (Dustin) Roeder; niece and nephews, Cade and Cate Frances Pierce, Cameron and Coleman Roeder; paternal grandparents, Helen and Gil Araujo; uncle Jim Harker and aunt Helen "Sissy" Araujo Harker, uncle Stan (Janet) Harker; and aunt, Lucy Harker (Bruce) Paulson.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Chris Harker.
