Mary Gibbs Spigner, 86, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 6, 2024 in a local Hospice facility.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Born in Florence County, Mary was the daughter of the late Benjamin Grady and Mary Elise Gowdy Gibbs.  Mary spent most of her adult years in Charleston where she and her husband owned and operated various successful businesses.  Mary was very talented and creative in many areas.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be  missed.

Mary was married to the late W.F. "Sonny" Spigner.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Langston; brother, Charles (Janice) Gibbs; sister, Patrcia Bickett; and the delight in her eye, her grandchildren. Tara (Landon) Watford, Jhesika Menes; step-grandson, Taylor Watford and her nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by three brothers, Hagood, Bobby and Vernon Gibbs.
