Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mary Lou Martinez, 97, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Father JohnBosco Duraisamy, Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martinez entered into rest on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born in Long Island NY, she was the daughter of the late Tomaso Mangino and the late Vincenza Focarazzo. She was a nurse and caregiver for most of her life. She dedicated her life to caring for others. After her retirement, she served as a hospital chaplain for many years, Her faith was important as she spent many years active in the church choir and teaching CCD. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Florence, SC.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Anthony J. Martinez; daughter, Denise L. Baldwin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose Mangino, Angelina Brienza, Anna Cassandra, Mary Sobanski, Tony Mangino, and Antoinette.
