Florence- Martha Ann Powers Gainey – 77, died at her residence on Friday morning, June 5, 2015 after an extended illness.

A graveside service will be Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Byrd Cemetery, Timmonsville. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gainey was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Ellie and Christine Driggers Powers.

Surviving are two sons, Marion Gainey, Jr. (Robin), Murray Gainey all of Florence; five daughters, Rebecca Goff (Wayne), Sheila Goff, Jenifer Floyd, Crystal Holmes (Chris) all of Florence and Linda Yarborough (Danny), Effingham; a brother, Wade Powers (Pat), Florence; four sisters, Wanda Carraway, Joann Howard and Janie Mae Ham, Florence and Crista Bell Dixon, Hartsville and fifteen (15) grandchildren and ten (10) great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, Billy James Gainey, two daughters, Cheryl Gainey, Martha Raye Gainey and a sister, Janice Hancock.
