Effingham, SC. – Rosa "Marie" Turner Thomas, 74, went peacefully to her heavenly home early on Thursday morning August 17, 2023.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 19, 2023 at 3:00 at Effingham Church of God. Burial will follow at Turner Family Cemetery, 5115 Fontanelle Road, Effingham. The family will have a time of visitation beginning 1:00 p.m. before the service at the church. The family would like for all who attend to wear something yellow or another "Happy" color.

Marie was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Freddie Willcox Turner and Jessie Naomi Ard Brown. From an early age, she was raised by Samuel Russell Brown, the man she knew as "Dad".  She was a long standing member of Christian Assembly Church.

Marie retired from the City of Florence,  in the Public Works Division.

Surviving are; her husband of  53 years, David "Andy" Thomas; daughter, Sabrina Thomas Lantz (Dean); grandchildren, Zackareah "BUG" Timmons (Brittany McCoy), Nolan Timmons, Austin Lantz; great-grandchildren, Bentley Timmons, Nova "Priss-Ann" Timmons, Aulbree-Grace "Missy" Timmons; brother, Freddie Willcox Turner (Nancy "Lu"); sisters, Nancy Wolfe, Sandy Prosser, Leta Jane Sweat and a host of nieces and nephews.
