Florence- Marianna Sitterson Byrd, 83, died at the Medical University of Charleston, August 22, 2016.

A Funeral service will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, Florence. Interment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Byrd was born in Wilson, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Fred S. and Sudie Stewart Sitterson. Her passion was her family, painting and art.

She was first married to the late Fred D. Bailey.

Surviving are her four children, Randall D. (Hilda) Bailey, Robin (Tammy) Bailey, Michael (Rebecca) Bailey all of Florence, and Melanie (Derwin) Hudson, Coward; a sister, Frances (Paul) Webb, Santee; eleven grandchildren, Dominique Norris, Garrett Bailey, Marianna "Nikki" Bailey, Fred Stewart Bailey, Michael D. (Nancy) Bailey, Keegan (Spencer) Bailey, Austin Bailey, Michele (Yuri) Eliashevsky, James (Krystal) Bailey, Alex Hudson and Bailey Hudson and eleven great-grandchildren. Marianna is preceded in death by a sister, Dottie Sue Simmons and a grandchild, Brant Bailey.
