Effingham, SC – Mack Elwood Floyd, 71, died in a local hospital, Sunday March 4, 2018.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Floyd was born in Williamsburg County, SC, the son of Ethel Mae McGee Floyd and the late M.C. Floyd.He attended Effingham Church of God. He worked at Vulcraft Steel for 28 years as a Machinist.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Diane Collins Floyd; two daughters, Sheila F.(Jimmy) Lee, Crystal (Angie) Galloway, one step-daughter, Michelle (John) Taylor; sisters, Mary (Randy) Dennis, Darlene (Dennis) Wasko, Patricia (Don) Lee; step-son, Steve Matthews and thirteen grand-children, and twenty great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law, Ronnie Shady and a special friend, Robert Palmer. He is preceded in death by two sons, Mack Swain Floyd and Mack Elwood Floyd Jr. a brother, David Floyd and sister, Linda Shady.
