Florence- Lonnie Green, 86, died Tuesday, May 3,2016 at the McLeod Hospice House, with his family by his side.

A funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guest at 3:00 p.m. before the service at the Funeral Home.The family will be at 3968 Meadors Road.

Mr. Green was born in Florence County, the son of the late Charlie J. and Olive Strickland Green. Lonnie served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was involved with many of the church activities.Lonnie retired from Flavo-Rich Dairy Company.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Betty Cusaac Green, Florence; two sons, Richard L."Ricky"(Angela) Green, Michael E.Green all of Florence; a daughter, Kathy; sisters,Learleen Gainey, Ann (Rudy) Springs all of Florence, Sylvia McMillan,Tifton, GA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
