Florence, SC – Linda Smith Powers, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

A graveside service will be Friday, July 24, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Florence Memorial Gardens.  A drop-in visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.  Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be observed.  You are invited to stop by the residence at other times.

Linda was born in Florence, SC the daughter of the late Mendel Lewis and Margaret Washam Smith.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence.   Linda was a graduate of the McLeod School of Nursing.  Before retiring, Linda worked for Dr. Monroe and Waters for years. Following that she went to work for Pee Dee Surgical Group of Florence for many years and then also worked at Carolinas Hospital and McLeod Hospital.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Charles Henry Powers; three brothers, Ernest (Kay) Smith, Charlie (Teresa) Smith, Steve (Ann) Smith and her grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Houston Johnston and Mendel Johnston.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Johnston, two brothers, Michael Smith, David Smith and sister, Jan Smith Floyd.
