Obituary

Timmonsville-Lillie Bell Mixon Plummer, 85, received her heavenly bouquet of flowers on Saturday, September 3, 2016 as she passed away peacefully at Southland Nursing Facility with her family at her side. Lillie passed from this life of mortality to her immortal resting place in heaven with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Lillie, a lover of flowers, can now enjoy walking in the flowers of God's beautiful kingdom.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Lake Swamp Baptist Church, 6558 Oates Hwy, Timmonsville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at other times at Ron and Annette Dorriety's home at 5869 Oates Hwy, Timmonsville.

Lillie was born in Darlington County, SC to the late Blanche Gardner Mixon and LePeele Mixon. She was a member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church for many years. She worked at General Electric for a few years and was self employed as a store owner/operator.Lillie was married to the late Richard W. Plummer. That unity of love of 55 years brought forth three children.

Surviving are; her children, Betty Jo Plummer of the home, Annette (Ronnie) Dorriety of Timmonsville; one sister, Mable (Jerry) Meserve, Sardinia, SC; three grandchildren, Christy (Michael) Jeffords, Florence, Amanda Dorriety and Fiance' Christopher Mims, Robin (Stephanie) Plummer, Timmonsville. She has three great-grandchildren, Hanna and MJ Jeffords and Elijah Plummer and a number of nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by a son, Larry Plummer and three sisters, Edna Mae Smith, Mary Ruth Blackwell and Billie Jane Childers.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Gilliam Skinner and the staff of Southland Nursing Home (North Hall), for all the love and care shown to our mother through the years. You are a great group of caring individuals. A special blessing to her room-mate Ms. Carolyn Cox for all the years you offered your friendship to our mother. Also a special thank you to Patsy and Vernon Lane for your loving act of kindness shown to our mother and our family over the years.The flowers she loved so was a lot of the direct effort that you put forth to help create their beauty here on earth.
