Charles "Legrand" Kennedy, Jr. 61, passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2025 after an illness.

A memorial service will be held at Salem Church, 1817 Salem Road, 1817 Salem Road, Timmonsville, on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive visitors  from 10:30 to 11:00 prior to the service at the church.

Born in Florence County, Legrand was the son of Myrtle Knotts Jefferson and the late Charles L. Kennedy, Sr.  He worked as a carpenter until retirement.

Surviving are his special companion, Deborah Seegars; sister, Tammy (Donnie) Weatherford; brothers, Clay Kennedy and Kris (Ginger) Kennedy; Aunt, Linda Nettles; daughter -in-law, Sarah Kennedy and his grandchildren, David Kennedy, Jr., Emmah Kennedy and Daxton Kennedy; nephew, Aaron and four nieces, Kristen, K.C., Krista and Sabrina. He is preceded in death by a son, David A. Kennedy and a brother, Robert Lloyd Kennedy.
