Florence, SC Larry Herbert Gertie, 64, passed away suddenly May 3,2018.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville. The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Francis Herbert and Betty Ann Hayse Gertie. He worked as a stone cutter.

He was married to the late Connie Jeffords Gertie who preceded him in death in 2017.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Christopher "Chris" Gertie; a daughter Tracy Peebles, step-daughters, Charity Godwin and Pamela Elmore; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
