Timmonsville- Lide H. Jordan, 82, died peacefully at his residence on Dec. 6, 2015.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church, Timmonsville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall beginning at 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mr. Jordan was born in Florence County, the son of the late Wilburn Kirby, Sr. and Effie Doyle Jordan. L.H. graduated from USC. He was an avid Gamecock fan. After 36 years of service, he retired from W. Lee Flowers (IGA) as Sales Manager. He was a member of Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. He was a volunteer with Cooks for Christ and a charter member of the "Old Coots Club."

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Betty Middleton Jordan, Timmonsville; a son Kevin (Donna) Jordan; a daughter, Amy (Larry) DeFee all of Timmonsville; a sister, Anne ("Bud") Register, and a special nephew, John Register all of Darlington and a special sister-in-law, Jean Middleton; grandchildren, Joshua (Royce) Jordan, Caleb (Abbie) Jordan, Paul Jordan and Nathan Jordan, Isaac DeFee and Christian DeFee. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother, W. K. Jordan, Jr and sister-in-law, Miriam Jordan and a special brother-in law, Junior Middleton.
