Kim Morris Cheek, 51, left this earthly life on Saturday July 20, 2024 with her husband and children by her side.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Elim Baptist Church, 1303 Olanta Highway, Effingham at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery in Coward.  The family will have a time of visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cheek was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn Smalls Morris.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Surviving are; the love of her life for 33 years, her husband, Ronnie Cheek; son, Clinton (Rachel) Cheek; daughter, Angel (David) McGee; brother, Dale Morris; sister, Linda Poston, Sandy Morris, Georgia (Sydney) Morris; grandchildren, Paige and Colton Cheek and a large number of nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are her mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Homer Rackley.  Kim is preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Morris and a grandchild, Caroline Cheek; nephew, Ray "Duke" Johnson and Crystal Johnson.
