Kathy A. Smith, 69, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, March17, 2024 with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Life Worship Center, 3569 Oates Hwy, Lamar.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Church Cemetery in Timmonsville.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Kathy was born in Darlington, SC, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ella Caulder Anderson.  She was a devout Christian, an active and loved member of New Life Worship Center.  She was a beloved wife, mother and sister to her family.  Her heart belonged to her many grandchildren whom she treasured. She spent time building a loving home for her family where she often hosted Sunday dinner and all were welcome. Known to many as "Mama KK" in our family and community, she was always a loving spirit with an open heart to all.

Kathy was married to the late Billy Ray Smith.

Surviving are; daughter, Chasity (Ariel) Garcia; two sons, Billy Ray, Jr (Denise) Smith, Chad (Pamela) Smith, her brother, Rusty (Rebecca) Anderson that she raised as her son; sister, Terri (Hart) Mahek; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Dianne Duenow her special friend.  She is preceded in death by two grandchildren.
