John D. Cunningham, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 after a Brief illness.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Timmonsville Presbyterian Church, 158 W. Byrd Street, Timmonsville, SC.

John was born in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late Calvin and Virginia Nicholson Cunningham.  John enlisted in the US Army during Viet-Nam and served in the EOD unit and was assigned to follow President Nixon.  He retired from Florence-Darlington Tech after 18 years, teaching HVAC.  He was member of Benton Masonic Lodge and served as Worshipful Master.  He loved playing pool, reading and being with his family and friends.

He was married to the late Phyllis Burnes Cunningham.

Surviving are his sisters, Vici C. (Rhett) Garner, Jean C. (Larry) Howell; nieces, Gini (Randy) Moore, Brittany (Stewart) Wingo, Rhett (Geri) Garner, Olivia (Steven) Howell and Dean (Jenna) Howell.
