Timmonsville – Jenny Amick Lawrence, 80, loving wife, Mom, Nana, sister, and friend to many passed away to her heavenly home, Sunday, September 1st, 2024, surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m.Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Peniel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will have visitation Wednesday, September 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lawrence was born in Columbia, SC the daughter of the late Oscar Amick and the late Clyde Richardson Amick. She was the beloved wife of the late Louie B. Lawrence, Jr.

Mrs. Lawrence retired in 2018 from West Florence High School where she worked as a secretary. Mrs. Jenny was a member of Peniel Baptist Church where she served for 55 plus years as a Sunday school teacher and was involved in many other children's programs including VBS director and Sunbeams.

Not only a beloved wife, she was a beloved Mama, and Nana to her children and grandchildren.  She never said "No" to any of her grandchildren and she was always "There" for her grandchildren any time of the day or night no matter what the need. The recent birth of her great-grandchild filled her heart with joy. She loved to cook and entertain, always willing to help anyone in need. She knitted over 100 Christmas stockings for family and friends. Her unique love and devotion to children made her a 2nd Mama and Nana to many.

Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer (Gary) Severance, and Charmon (Kevin) Shuler; two brothers, John Willie Amick, and Royce Amick; one sister, Nell Derrick; her grandchildren, Zachary Shuler, Adam (Tori) Shuler, Luke Severance, and Anna Grace Severance; and her great-grandchild, Rylee Shuler.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Boozer and Joyce Smith.

The family would like to especially thank Roseanne Strickland, and Hope, Carolyn & Stanley Severance for their devoted love and friendship to their Mom.
