James deKoster, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2023. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence, SC.

Born on July 8, 1981, James left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. He is remembered for his intelligence, kindness, generosity, and patience, characteristics that endeared him to his many friends and family.

James was predeceased by his mother, Jean deKoster, and his grandmother, Dorothy Zeimetz. He is survived by his wife, Kristin deKoster, his cherished daughter, Samantha deKoster, his father, Jeff deKoster (Tricia), and his sisters, Jennifer Chera (Bhisham), Jessica Johnson (Chris), and Jasmine deKoster, his mother-in-law, Peggy Fleiner, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

James was extremely smart, showing brilliant aptitude in his studies. He graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College with an associate degree in Electronic Engineering, a significant achievement that he was deeply proud of. His proudest accomplishment, however, was his beautiful daughter, Samantha. Above all, his legacy lies in the love and friendships he cultivated throughout his life.

James' loss is deeply felt by his family and friends in both South Carolina and Virginia. His kind nature and benevolent spirit will be greatly missed but will continue to live on in the lives of those he touched.
