J.W. Atkinson

Timmonsville, SC – James W. Atkinson, Jr, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020.

A graveside service will be Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville.  The family will speak to those attending after the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Atkinson was born in Florence County, the son of the late James and Janie Mae Watford Atkinson.  J.W. served his country in the US Navy.    He was a retired Air Craft Mechanic for Northwest Airlines.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Rita Watts Atkinson; his children, James C. (Jennifer)

Atkinson, Tony L. Knotts; daughters, Leigh (Doug) Watson, Brenda (Keith) Notter, Renee (Jamie) Beasley, Sheila (Amy) Knotts; sister, Judy (Jimmy) Hopkins; grandson,

Patrick Knotts, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death

by a brother, Norman Atkinson, sisters, Gladys Alexander and Mary Anna Powell.
