Timmonsville – Junius Richard "Ricky" Welch, Jr, 62, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2018.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 18,2018 at 5:00 p.m.in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will have a time of visitation from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. before the service.

Ricky was born in Florence County, the son of the late Junius and Cornelia O'Neal Welch. He owned a business for twenty-two years, working to remove trees and stump grinding until his health declined. He loved spending time with his family. Ricky enjoyed baking cakes and candies. He loved the Lord and started attending Unity Christian Fellowship Church when he could.

Surviving are; his wife,best friend, and the love of his life, Sandra Jeffers Welch; a daughter, Brandi Elizabeth Welch Sheppard, step-daughter, Heather (Scotty) Page; step-son, Phillip Johnston; a sister, Judith Welch Lee; other special extended family, a nephew, Jason (Renee) Carraway, father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Christine Jeffers; his grandchildren, Joanna,Madison, Dylan Page, Dawson Turner, Zayden Johnston, Logan and Alex Sheppard. He is preceded in death by a son, Brandon Lee Welch who he loved and thought of every day.
