Ivy Fountain Sansbury, 79, entered into rest on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Florence County, SC , she was the daughter of the late Edward Thomas Fountain and the late Mildred Hill Fountain.

Raised in the Cartersville Community, Ivy was a faithful member of Cartersville Baptist Church. She dedicated over 35 years of service to the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department. After her retirement, she worked for Coit Yarborough's law firm. Ivy had a passion for creating beauty, whether through crafting, intricate needlepoint, or working in her yards in her younger years, making things grow. She also loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle and traveling to different beaches with her dear friend, Virginia. She had a great love for animals, especially her dogs. Her presence will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa W. Anderson (Ken); her granddaughter, Kelly Jean Anderson, who was the apple of her eye. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Earl "Sonny" Fountain.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, at Cartersville Baptist Church. The Rev. David George will officiate with burial to follow in Cartersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence, 1255 Viburnum Dr. Florence, SC 29505.
