Florence, S.C.  –  Irene DuRant Poole, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 at Byrd Cemetery, Timmonsville, SC.  The family will speak to those attending after the service at the cemetery.  Social distancing will be observed, please wear a mask.

Ms Poole was born in Darlington County, the daughter of the late David Griffin DuRant, Sr and the late Mildred Bagnal DuRant.   Irene had a great love of reading and retired from the Florence County Library.   Other things she enjoyed were putting puzzles together and eating ice cream.  She was a life member of Timmonsville First Baptist Church. .

Surviving are a son, Bill Poole and daughter, Beth (Bryan) Tanner; brother ,Charles (Annette) DuRant; sisters, Catherine Allen and Virginia Baird;  grandchildren, Alicia  Carrese, Billy Poole and Kristopher Bryant; great-grandchildren, Julian, Jordan, Gaven, Hunter, Carter and Kaleb.

She was preceded  in death by a daughter, Rachel P Kelley;  brothers, David Griffin DuRant Jr., James O DuRant and Kenneth R DuRant.
