Pamplico, SC – Ilamae Matthews Collins, 87, went to her Heavenly home, Monday, March 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Ilamae was born in Coward, SC, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mary Kennedy Matthews.  She attended the Effingham Church of God.

She was married to the late S.J. Collins.

Surviving are a son, Donnie Collins; two daughters, Betty Mae (Stevie) Goodman, Lisa (Bill) Godwin; grandchildren, Bridgett Collins, Tasha (Kyle) DuBridge, Jamie (Corley) Godwin, Stephanie (Ryan) Avant, Benjamin (Anna) Godwin and Mikey Jensen; great-grandchildren, Taylor Lee, Tara Lee, Kaylie Avant, Khloe Avant, Braylin Godwin, Waylon Godwin, Zoiey Jensen; many nieces and nephews; and a special life time friend, Skeeter Cade. She is preceded in death by brothers, George "Bootsie" Matthews, Sonny Buck Matthews and  Kenneth Jeffords, sisters, Marie Jeffords, Corine Anderson, Tiny Anderson, Shirley Jensen, and Diane Miles.

The family wants to Thank, her caregiver and good friend, Teresa Rogers for the love and care given  to Ilamae during her life and especially during her illness.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery in Coward, SC.  The family will have a time of visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
