Florence, SC – Ila Mae Floyd Cox, 83, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020.

A graveside service will be Monday, July 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of the First Born Cemetery, 2930 Cartersville Hwy, Timmonsville.  A drop-in visitation  will be Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cox was born in Aynor, SC, the daughter of the late Odell and Katie Byrd Floyd. Ila Mae was a member of the Church of God of the First Born Church in Florence.  She will be remembered for her delicious biscuits.  She was the biscuits maker for the School House Restaurant before retiring.

She was married to the late George O. Cox.

Surviving are five sons, William Cox, Terry Cox, Kenny (Daisy) Cox, Mitchell (Donna) Cox, Danny (Carol) Cox; four sisters, Joyce (Robert) Rogers, Doris (Billy Ray) Oxendine, Lois Rogers, Ruth Adell Tyler; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by a son, David Cox and two grandchildren.
