Timmonsville, SC – Herbert Errol Ivy, 95, passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2020.

A graveside service will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville, SC.  Observing COVID 19, the family will speak to those attending the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Ivy was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late James Culpepper and Alma Copeland Ivy.  He retired from the E.I.DuPont Company.  He was a Navigating Officer in the Merchant Marines during World War II.   Herbert was a member of Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church.

He was married to the late Elizabeth Conyers Ivy.

Surviving are his step-children, Tillman "Ike" (Linda) Locklair, Laura Jean (Gary) Gillette; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by five brothers, James, Marion, John, William and Kenneth Ivy.
