Timmonsville, SC- Herbert H. "Hamp" Freeman, 82, died on Monday, October 31, 2016 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.

Mr. Freeman was born in Florence County, the son of the late Ambrose and Daisy Mae Bolton Freeman. He was retired from Dixie Cup of Darlington. After retiring, he worked with the Waste Management Company.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Gracie Sims Freeman.

Survivors are: a son, Mike (Kelly) Freeman, Ashburn, VA; four daughters, Gale (Willard) Braveboy, Coward, Cindy Freeman, Teresa Feagin and Vicky (Randy) Lee all of Timmonsville; a sister, Cora Hodge, Alcolu, SC; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers, Alvin, Owen and Wayne Freeman and sisters, Katherine Knotts, Naggie Lou Collins, and Clara Freeman and his son-in-law, Wayne Feagin.
