Timmonsville, SC – Herbert Sloan Anderson, Jr, 89, passed away on Saturday evening October 29, 2022.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Peniel Baptist Church.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the church. The family will be at 4303 Langston Road at other times.

Mr. Anderson was born in Timmonsville, the son of the late Herbert S. and Sarah Morris Anderson.   He was a graduate of Clemson University. He served his country in the US Army.  "Hub" as he was known in the community, was a dairy farmer and later owner of Anderson Oil Company.

He was on the Timmonsville School board, and deacon at Peniel Baptist Church.   Hub enjoyed flying his airplane.

He was married to the late Clyde Elizabeth Kirby Anderson.

Surviving are three daughters, Sarah Folkens, Isla J. Anderson, Mary "Sug" McMaster; two brothers, Ward Anderson, Morris (Ann) Anderson; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anna (Dave), Evan (Leana) Bailey, Anderson (Kim); two great-granddaughters, Madison and Charlotte,  one great-grandson, Louie.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Rabon and grandson, Jamison McMaster and sisters, Mary Anderson Knight and Jeanine Anderson Hucks.
