Helen Marie Powers , 66, left this earthly home to find peace and well-being in her Heavenly home on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Funeral services with honors will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 12:30 to 1:30 at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  The family will receive visitors at other times at her home on Rebel Lane, Florence.

Helen was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late James H. and Inez Hulon Lamb.  She was a veteran in the US ARMY, serving for 30 years  before retiring.  She was attached to the 413th Chemical Company, Unit Administrator and 74D40 Chemical Specialist. After retirement she worked in various location in the Florence area.  Her familiar smile and face was seen at the Walmart Market.

Surviving are her daughter, Amy Lewellyn and Fiance' Brad Britt; sister, Carolyn Averette; a nephew that she considered her son, James Matthew Hughes; grandchildren, Logan James Lewellyn and Tristan Cade Lewellyn and her extended family, Emily, Zoey and Langston Britt.
