Thomas Harold "Hawk" Duke, 78 of Timmonsville, SC Thomas Harold Duke, known to friends as "Hawk," passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Harold was born in Greeleyville, SC, to the late Thomas Harrison and Catherine Smith Duke. A proud patriot, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, Harold built a career in the steel industry, retiring from Southeastern Steel. Beyond his work, Harold found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman who could spend hours by the water, sharing stories and waiting for the perfect catch. His love for gardening was evident in the lush vegetables and vibrant flowers he nurtured with care. A talented cook, Harold enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends, filling his home with the rich aromas of Southern comfort food. His quick wit and competitive spirit made him a formidable poker player, and he relished time spent around the card table with friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Herbert Arnold Duke.

He is survived by his children, Hal Duke and Chris Duke; his beloved sister, Brenda Darnell; and his cherished grandchildren, Becken Duke, Nate (Kat) Duke, Sam Duke, and Gavin Duke, who brought immense joy to his life.

Family and friends will gather to honor Harold's memory on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00am for a visitation with funeral services beginning at 12:00 pm at Lake Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be accepting Friends and Family following the funeral at 3517 Fieldmaster Drive, Timmonsville, SC. 29161 to share memories with friends and loved ones as we share some of Harold's favorite foods. Harold's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
