Little River, SC- Guy B. Crenshaw, Jr., 87, formerly of Timmonsville, SC, died at his residence on Friday, March 6, 2015 after a long illness.

A funeral service will be Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum of Florence Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Crenshaw was born in Rock Hill, SC, the son of the late Guy B. Sr. and Eva Cook Crenshaw. He served in World War II in the US Marines. Residing in Lancaster, SC, he was an employer of Springs Industries. During this time, he was a swim and diving instructor, touching lives of people that he taught the techniques of life saving. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America. Guy was a troop leader and a district leader. He later moved to Timmonsville, SC in 1973 and was employed with A.Q. Mills Industries as the Personnel Director.

He was married to the late Yetteva Bowers Crenshaw.

Surviving are a son, Guy "G" Crenshaw, III, and his wife Reneế of Little River, SC; grandson, Jason Stewart and his wife, Leslie Crenshaw and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jay Stewart Crenshaw. Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by a daughter, Candice Karen Crenshaw.
