It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Carlton McKay Sr., who departed this life on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born in Florence County, Glenn was the son of the late LaVern Dozier and Louise Smith McKay. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. Glenn was a retired truck driver. He attended Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Floyd McKay; two sons, Glenn Carlton, Jr (Brandy), Randall Andrew McKay (Louisa); four daughters, Amanda Head (Bix), Emily Rachel McKay (Dennis Boan), Casie Marie Suto (Carson), Melissa Johnson (Randy), and two brothers, Don McKay, Bob McKay and beloved grandchildren, Amber, Magan, Allie, Bobby, Ansley, Jordan, Matthew, Kailey; great grandchildren, Jaxon ,Drake, Maggie, Bella, Colton, Matthew, Gracelen "Peaches", and DJ.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be at Layton Anderson Funeral Home at 10:00am to 11:00am before the service.

The arrangements are being handled with care by Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, who are dedicated to honoring Glenn's life according to the wishes of those closest to him.
