Timmonsville, SC – Gladys Atkinson Alexander, passed away on Monday evening March 12, 2018 after an illness at the McLeod Hospice House.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Gladys was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late James and Janie Mae Watford Atkinson. She worked in the Timmonsville and Florence area as a Florist for many years.

Surviving are; her husband of fifty-six years, Laurie S. Alexander; two sons, Calvin L (Lisa) Alexander, Cecil D. (Lisa) Alexander; a daughter, Charissa Rushing; two brothers, J.W. (Rita) Atkinson, Norman (Cathy) Atkinson; a sister,Judy (Jimmy) Hopkins,ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anna Powell.
