Timmonsville- Gertrude Fields Tolson, 95, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon May 5, 2015, with her family at her bedside.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church,Timmonsville. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery,Lamar. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Tolson was born in Lamar, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Ephraim August Woolridge, Sr. and Ethel Gertrude Huggins Fields. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

Gertrude was married to the late T.J. Tolson.

Surviving are three sons; Al (Terry) Tolson, Kingsport, TN, Dick (Penelope) Tolson, Mike (Marsha) Tolson, all of Blythewood, SC; a daughter, Joyce (Preston) Warr, Lamar, SC and grandchildren, Beth Schmid, Gene Warr, Caroline Warr, Paige Tolson, Ashley Lohr, Tara Heptinstall, Brad Tolson, Michelle Bridges and nine great -grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by four (4) brothers, Cuyler Fields, Ephraim Fields, Sr., George Dewitt Fields, Sr. and Jeff Fields; two sisters, Mae Bell Ballard and Mary Watford Jordan.
