George Myers Young, 80, died at his residence in Timmonsville on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Born in Timmonsville, he was the son of the late Curtis Robert Young, Sr. and Lenora Moore Young.Prior to his retirement Mr. Young worked as a machinist with GE in Florence. He was a member of Timmonsville First Baptist and he served South Carolina National Guard.

Surviving are: two brothers, Curtis "Robert" Young, Jr. (Judy), and Darrell Moore Young (Karen); one sister, Harriett Young Ross (Glenn).

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Ann Young Taylor who is survived by her husband John W. Taylor.

A "Family" graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Byrd Cemetery, Timmonsville. The family will speak to those attending following the service.
