Timmonsville, SC – George Morris, 73, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery in Coward.  The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Morris was born in Florence County, the son of the late Edward H. and Deola Carroway Morris.  He was the owner of Southern Lift Company until retiring.

He was married to the late Evelyn Smalls Morris.

Surviving are; a son, Dale Morris; five daughters, Linda Poston, Kathy Morris, Sandy Piscezek, Kim (Ronald) Cheek, Georgia Turvin; two brothers, Ricky Morris and Jimmy Morris; four sisters, Betty Davis, Janice Small, Carolyn Poston and Lisa Griggs;  five grandchildren, James Poston, Clinton (Rachel) Cheek, Alan (April) Johnson, Angel (David) McGee and Jason (Taylor) Young and seven great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by a  grandchild, Ray Johnson and brothers, Roy Morris and Jessie Morris.
