A graveside service for Mr. Gary Charles Wilson, 86, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilson of Timmonsville, S,C passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his home. Born in Sumter, SC he was a son of the late Elbert James Wilson and the late Irene Flowers Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his older brother Wayne Wilson and the love of his life of almost 57 years, his wife, Joyce Cynthia Wilson.

Gary was a very skilled carpenter who could build anything and with great detail. He loved playing the guitar and later in life learned to play the keyboard where he would also have jam sessions with his friends in his garage.

The family would like to thank Agape Palliative and Hospice care for all of their support and kindness during this difficult time.

He is survived by his three daughters, Christine Wilson of Virginia Beach, VA, Barbara Asby (David) of Norfolk, VA, and Cynthia Moore (Jeff) of Kill Devil Hills, NC. He has two grandsons, Austin Johnson (Brooke) and Connor Gross, and a great grandson Kellon Johnson. He is also survived by his two sisters, Judy Strickland (Ray) and Sheila Soysal (Orhan). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
