Florence, SC – Gail Rogers Bateman, 65, passed away Dec. 25, 2019.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Assembly Church, 2925 W. Palmetto Street, Florence.  The family will have a time of visitation following the service.

Gail was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Ralph and Ilena Fountain Rogers.  She was a member of The Assembly Church.  Gail worked as an accountant for a medical supply company. She loved her children and her family with an unwavering fierceness. She lived her life for her children as a single mother until she found the love of her life in 1993.  Gail was a strong Christian woman that loved only God above her family.  She served the Lord and her family with all she was.  She was a beautiful alto singer and tambourine player.  Everyone who heard her sing will never forget her voice.

Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Samuel J "Sammy" Bateman, Jr; sons, Earl "Lee" (Kate) Rotan, Joseph "Marty" Rotan, Justin Christopher (April) Bateman; daughters, Angela Gail (Dean) Lambert, Jacqueline Heather (Jerry) Woodberry, Jennifer Lynn (Jon) Bateman; brother, Dan (Beverly) Rogers; sister, Kay (Chris) Taylor and her nine grandchildren, Ashton, Leah, Addison, Liam, Nicole, Taylor, Jenna, Julian and Meredith.
