Florence - Franklin Delano "Deck" Jeffords, 79, died Nov. 25, 2015 in the McLeod Hospice House with his family at his bedside.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence. Visitation be prior to the service at the church from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Jeffords was born in Florence County, the son of the late Oren N. and Emma Ruth Humphrey Jeffords. "Deck" was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church,the Francis Asbury Sunday School and the Methodist Men of Highland Park. He was a member of Benton Lodge #26, Timmonsville and the Omar Shrine of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Jeffords was a farmer and retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Company as buyer/supervisor. He worked as a crop insurance adjuster with RCIS.

He was 1st married to the late Jeanette Brown Jeffords.

Surviving are his wife Sheila Hedrick Jeffords, Florence; a son, Todd Franklin Jeffords, Florence; a daughter, Sherri Lynn (Chris) Holloman, Florence; step-son, Tony (Jennifer) Hedrick; grand-children, Samantha Nicole Holloman, Casey LaNora (Zach) Holloman-Foran, Victoria Hedrick and Phillip Hedrick; brothers-in-law, Marion Crouse, Cose Bay,Oregon, Levi (Betty) Leonard and Donald Tesh all of Winston-Salem, NC; sister-in-law, Miriam Moore, Olanta. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne O. Jeffords, James "Red" Jeffords, John W. Jeffords and two sisters, Nelva Jeffords Crouse and Joanne Jeffords George.
