Lamar- Frances Criswell, 80, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A private burial will be at Florence Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Criswell was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Percival Laird, Sr. and Frances Clark Hills. She was a member of the Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church. Frances was co-founder of Pee Dee Christian Book and Supply of Florence.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Clarence L. Criswell of Lamar; two sons, Clarence Lee (Donna) Criswell, Jr., Lamar, Andrew Luke (Valerie) Criswell, Florence; a brother, Percival Laird Hills, Jr., Charleston, SC; a sister, Mary (Jake) Joye, Mauldin, SC; her grandchildren, Maggie, Sarah, Ronnie, Luke and Matthew. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Lance Criswell.

Memorials may be made to the Missions Fund of Philadelphia Southern Methodist Church, 1665 Philadelphia Street, Darlington, SC 29532.
