Effingham – Evelyn Mae Parker Oliver, 56, died in a local hospital on Friday evening March 27, 2015 after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence. Interment will follow at Terrell's Chapel Cemetery near Lake City. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oliver was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Marvin, Sr. and Evelina Strickland Parker. She was a member of Effingham Church of God.

Mrs. Oliver was a seamstress for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Oliver, Effingham; two sons, Woody (Karen) Parker, New Hope, David (Libby) Parker, Coward; brother, Marvin "Tommy" (Kathy) Parker, Anderson, SC; four sisters, Patsy (Robert) Powell, Linn (Rusty) Bell, Linda (Dan) Moyer, Finley, Ohio, Ann Powell, Akron, Ohio and nine grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, James Lorrie, William and Buddy Parker and a sister, Gail Wallace.
