Elizabeth Ann "Snookie" Friar Jones, 80, was called to her heavenly home, Friday evening, September 26, 2025.

A memorial service will be Wednesday October 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  The family will speak to those attending after the service until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Jones was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Huey and Anna Friar.

"Snookie" as she was affectionately known was a crafter, she loved all sports especially the Carolina Gamecocks, and she loved to cook.   She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  Before her retirement she worked as a Printer at Timer Products.

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Ronald E. Jones; son, Scotty E. Jones; and the light and love of her life, grandchildren, Kaitlin (John) Carter, Brayden Jones and two great-grandchildren, Mills and Lily Carter; Harriett M. Jones, the mother of her grandchildren who was like a special daughter to her and several nieces and nephews.    She is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Jimmy, sisters, Mary, Pearl, Dorothy, Ethel Alma and Ruby.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for all the love and care given to Mrs. Jones during her illness.
