Elizabeth "Lib" Miles Tedder, 88, surrendered her earthly life to enter into her heavenly home on Tuesday evening with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Strickland- Feagin Cemetery near Lake City.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the service at the Funeral Home.

Elizabeth was born in  Florence County, the daughter of the late William Preston Miles and the late Esther Matthews Miles. Lib and her late husband, attended Florence Bible Chapel.  Lib was affectionally known as "MaLib" by the children she kept in her home daycare that she operated for over a half century.  Her name was changed to"Nanny" once her grandchildren joined in the mix.  She loved flowers and had a green thumb.  She enjoyed decorating and celebrating the holidays especially, Christmas.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Before his passing, Lib was married to the late Earl Tedder for more than 50 years.

Surviving are her daughter, Belinda "Bunnie" (William Dale) Gleason; brother, Jerry Miles; two grandchildren, Dustin Gleason, Katherine "Katie" Gleason.  She is preceded in death by a son, Dusty Ray Tedder, grandson Wil Gleason; brothers, Randolph, Bo, and H.B.; sisters, Lilly Mae Miles, Lizzie Sauls, Faye Matthews.

The family would like to extend special recognition to Gloria McKay, a special niece, who faithfully visited her every week.  Also, special acknowledgement to Oak Haven Nursing Center Staff for their love, support and care for nearly 10 years.

The family ask that memorials be made to any local church that is taking supplies and equipment to the North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida survivors.
