Elizabeth Welch Luhrs, 95, went to her heavenly home on Saturday morning, June 22, 2024.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Florence, SC. The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Elizabeth was born in Florence, the daughter of the late R. Timothy and Clara Gardner Welch.  She graduated from Florence High School.  Before retiring she was a legal and church secretary and retired from the Florence County Clerk of Court office.

She was married to the late H. Russell Luhrs for 60 years at the time of his death.  She was also predeceased by her brother, Herbert T. Welch.

Surviving are her daughter Beth and her husband Peter; two special nieces, Sarah (Terry) Holtrop of Cedar Springs, MI and Jane (Nick) Saladino of Grand Rapids, MI and their families; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her "special grandchildren", Tim and Nui Gerlach and their daughter Ellie.

The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderful and kind staff at McLeod Hospice for the care shown during their stay.
