Edward D. "Eddie" Ward departed this earthly home on Thursday, Jan 16, 2025 one day before his 70th birthday.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday before the service.  The family welcomes visitors at 4208 Lynchburg Hwy at other times.

Eddie was born in Florence County, the son of the late Frank and Lucille Edens Ward.

He retired from Vulcraft and SoCar Steel mills  as a Welder.  He was a distributor for   Snack-Time refreshments.  Eddie enjoyed fishing alone or with buddies and grandchildren whenever the word was mentioned, he was ready.  Hunting with his grandchildren was something he shared with them, especially Dove hunting.  He was an Avid Clemson fan.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Ward, Kate (Lee) Bryant; sister, Cecelia M. Montgomery; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Jacob and Eden.  He is preceded in death By three brothers, William Marshall, T.J. Marshall and Frank Ward.
