Lamar, SC – Edgar Maynard Mays, 83, passed away on Jan 10, 2018 in a local hospital.

A graveside service will be Monday, January 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Mays was born in Sandy Ridge,NC,the son of the late Edgar Mays and Belva Joyce Mays. He served his country in the US Air Force as a Jet Mechanic retiring after 26 years. He had thirteen years of service with the Post Office before retiring.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Barbara McCormick Mays, Lamar; a son,Terry Mays; one brother, Levi (Glenda) Mays, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Viki Mays and a grandchild, Adam Mays and his great-grandchild, Michael Mays. He is preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Bobby, two grandchildren, Maureen and Christopher and his brother, LeRoy Mays.
