Timmonsville, SC – Duane H. Brown, 85, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery near Timmonsville. The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Duane was born in Florence County, the son of the late Gary and Minnie Rotan Brown. He was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church. Duane served  on the Board of Trustees of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church for many years.    He retired from Carolina Freight with twenty-five years of service.  Duane loved sharing time with family and friends and having get-togethers cooking his famous fish fries.

Surviving are his wife Patsy Galliher Hyman Brown; a daughter, Lois Diane Brown; two sisters, Jackie Fiorani, Margaret Noland; step-sons, Alvin Hyman, Greg (Kim) Hyman, Patrick (Nicole) Hyman and a special nephew who was like his son, Jimmy Brown; grandchildren, Rachel (Reese) McClellan Robertson, Lee (Charlotte)  McClellan, Vinson, Jason, Rhett, Crystal, Jessica and Emily and a number of great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by two brothers, Randall and Billy Brown and a sister, Bertha Long.
