Dorothy Hanniford Stricklen, 84 of Timmonsville, went to her heavenly home on Sunday morning January 21, 2024 in the loving care of her family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church in Timmonsville.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will have a time of visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stricklen was born in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Douglas and Queen Esther Ferrell Hanniford.  She was the wife, mother and grandmother to a loving family.  Dorothy was a member of Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Laurie Odell Stricklen; son, Douglas Earl "Dickey" (Candace) Stricklen; four daughters, Terry (Geoge) Hadden, Melanie (Eddie) Nealey, Ginger (Ardy) Waldrop, Holly (Joe) Rabon; sister, Judy (Stuart) June; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by a brother, Rembert Matthews and two sisters, Miriam Wright and Evie Joyce Granger.
