Effingham, SC –Dorothy Norman Martin, 89, passed away Friday, Jan 12, 2018 after an illness at the Hospice House in Florence.

A graveside service will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Florence Memorial Gardens.The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Dorothy was born in Warren County, Ga, the daughter of the late William C. and Doreatha Wood Norman. She served in the US Army in the Medical Corp during WWII. She was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church. Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Post.

She was married to the late Edward Phillip Martin.

Surviving are two step-sons,Edward Martin,Jr, Sammy (Gloria) Martin all of Baltimore,Maryland; two step-daughters,Brenda M (Gary) Hodges,Havergrace, Maryland, Betty M.Udich, Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers,James (Juliette) Norman, Richard (Nancy) Norman all of Timmonsville;two sisters,Lanell Matthews, Barbara Ann Lee both of Florence, her grand-children and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and William Norman.
