Florence, SC – Dorothy (Dot) Darity Matthews Schipper, 86 of Florence,passed away surrounded by her family on May 14, 2019 in a local hospital from complications to cancer treatments.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pisgah United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Thursday at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Born in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alma Conyers Dairty. She attended public school in Timmonsville and Florence-Darlington Tech. She worked at Furchgotts Women's Apparel, GE, Erickson/GE and Blue Cross & Blue Shield.  She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a devoted sister, Doris (Bob) Hayes, Hartsville, grandsons, Bryon and Bob (Kia) Deas, a son-in-law, Mark Casey, several nieces and nephews and a loving partner of 34 years, Steve Cobb, Darlington.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Blandy "JB", Ray Dairty and a daughter, Jean Casey.
